HVACFAULTS
ABOUT THIS SITEINDEPENDENT REFERENCE

A reference site that reads the service manuals, so you don't have to.

Search any furnace error code and you'll find the same problem everywhere: code tables copied from other websites, merged across incompatible model generations, with no source cited. Get the meaning wrong and you replace the wrong part — or worse, keep resetting a furnace that's locking out for a safety reason.

HVACFaults exists to fix that. Every one of the 127 code pages on this site is built from the manufacturer's own service literature — the manuals technicians use — and each page cites its source document and page number. If a code isn't verified against an official manual, it doesn't get published. The methodology page documents the process, including what we do with codes we can't verify yet.

Who runs it

HVACFaults is independently run by a single operator — no HVAC manufacturer, contractor network, or parts retailer has any editorial input. The site launched in July 2026 and currently covers Goodman, Amana, Carrier, Bryant, and Payne furnaces, expanding brand by brand as manuals are verified.

How it's funded

Some part links and repair-quote links are affiliate links (Amazon Associates, CJ Affiliate, eBay Partner Network, HVACDirect, and similar programs) — disclosed in the footer of every page and in the privacy policy. Two rules keep that honest: parts are listed because the service manual references them, never because of a commission; and no affiliate relationship ever changes what a code means. If a page says "call a pro," that's what the manual's diagnostic ladder says.

What this site will never do

No paywalls, no accounts, no newsletter pop-ups, and no code tables copied from other websites. The reference works with every cookie blocked.
